CALL OF DUDY BIOS:

Producer/Director Jeffrey Brown produced a number of award-winning narrative features and feature documentaries in Europe, Africa and the USA. His Czech narrative feature Mamas & Papas won Best Film and Best Script at the 2010 Hamptons IFF while Shut Up and Shoot Me won Best Narrative Feature at the 2007 AFI Dallas IFF. He executive produced Academy Award-winning Czech director Jan Sverak’s Kooky, Special Jury Prize Winner at the 2010 Karlovy Vary IFF. His latest music documentary Punk in Africa premiered at the 2012 Rotterdam IFF and played the 2012 New York IFF. He just completed production on a feature doc on Somali pirates and is in post-production on Listopad, a narrative feature on the Czech Republic's Velvet Revolution,. Jeffrey splits time between Prague, Czech Republic, where he has lived for the last 20 years, and Austin, TX.

Michael Cwach recently completed a PhD in music at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand in  2013.  His studies involved the Bohemian bagpipes played in the Chodsko region of the Czech Republic and their role in forming the identity of its people.  He earned a master’s degree in the history of music instruments from the University of South Dakota in 2007.  Michael grew up on a farm near Yankton, South Dakota, which may be described as being located on the easternmost edge of an area of rural Czech settlement centered in Tabor, South Dakota.  He has performed on the Bohemian bagpipe at the Chodish festival in Domažlice, the International Bagpipe Festival in Strakonice and helped create the documentary film Call of Dudy: Bohemian Bagpipes Across Borders, touring the Czech communities of the American Midwest and Texas.
